MESZMERIZED

MESMERIZED

If you ask a Chronic Lyme's Patient to give ONE word that can explain how they feel, I guarantee you the word would be MESMERIZED! They are left 'stupefied' when told that after many tests being run, "We see nothing wrong with you." The Lyme Patient feels 'controlled' and as well as 'deadened' by the aches, pains, and nerve damage left with being handicapped on a daily basis.

You will see, in this blog and in the internet, thousands of testimonies of hurting individuals all who have seen specialists, undergone thousands of dollars of tests, and told they must have a psychological issue. I remember when our 'saga' began, the doctor prescribed nerve pills for my husband (who is the most 'laid-back-even-tempered' person I know). Basically telling him he was having some type of break down.  MESMERIZED!

Some days, patients find themselves seemingly grasping ahold of the pain, and trying to just move forward with their lives. Yet, what happens is that because there is so much pain; they get tired quickly. The more tired they become, the more frustrated they are not able to accomplish not only what they use to be able to do, but NEED to get done NOW. Mother's with young children who need them, fathers who are the main bread winner for their families and children, who miss school and cannot play like other children. This leaves them all mesmerized!

Understanding the emotional factor of Chronic Lyme's (with the co-diseases); is essential to be able to first; pray as well as be a support system for them. You see; the patient feels beat down, be-littled, forgotten, ignored and condescended...after facing doctor after doctor telling them there is nothing they can see why they are hurting.

Eventually, time goes by and they find they have aged quickly (as well as their care givers). That all of sudden there is nerve damage that cannot ever be fixed (due to the Lyme). They are being pushed in a wheel chair, not being able to accomplish some of the simplest of tasks. Still, the government turns their heads as well as insurance companies. MESMERIZED!

In our particular story, there are days like that! For sure, there are long nights and exhausting days. BUT...without God we could not go forward. By spending quality time with Him in the Word of God, Waiting in His Presence and truly worshipping at His feet; that is the fire that ignites continuous passion for life. Joy is instilled and HOPE that comes simply by KNOWING HIM!

We cast our cares on Him, for we have found He truly cares! If we decide to live MESMERIZED, then we live with great anger, hopelessness, loneliness, and frustration. We have decided NO MORE. Doing so, and living IN CHRIST, changing our out-look on life, thus continually retaining GREAT STRENGTH through it all!

May all fellow 'LYMIES' find that Jesus will be their injection of great joy, peace and strength! And you will no longer need to feel; 'MESMERIZED'!

Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. I Peter 5:7

LYME AWARENESS MONTH MAY 2014

LYME AWARENESS MONTH MAY 2014
IN GOD ALONE

Lyme patients across the globe get their turn to hopefully be heard; as a cry for help fills the skies and hopefully the ears of legislatures, scientist, insurance and pharmacy companies and medical personal. This is a bona fide disease striking all ages! With symptoms that vary from patient to patient, it is a struggle for physicians to diagnose the unusual complaints of their patients. When that happens, majority of the time; patients are told to take a NERVE PILL and go home. Some physicians recognize their limits and admit there is nothing they can do to help. Still the crippling pain floods the body, striking mostly the nervous symptoms of it's victims. Across the counter medications do not touch the excruciating migraines, joint pain and strange pains through out the body.

My husbands case, is quite extreme. Personally, I wish so much that it wasn't. But, we are the type of people to keep standing and going forward if at all possible. This has stolen my husbands health, ability to provide for his family, as well as playing with us. His pain is increasing daily. Test after test reveals nothing. We live by faith as God's children for our Lord to supply the needs of our children and family as a whole. Over and over again, people caringly ask if he has filed for disability. The answer is yes and yes many times over. I know God can give us favor if this is the door He is willing to open. If not, there must be another avenue of supply. This adds more stress to my dear husband. I am a home school mother, ordained minister and co-pastor the church we lead in our community. It is small, and unable right now to provide us an income. But, I am home also to care for my husband as needed and do now the labor around the house my adult son was doing before he moved out of state. One of the many lessons I have learned; don't judge folks who are in unusual and difficult places in their lives. ALWAYS show compassion, by lending out a helping hand. I am short, and not too strong; with that in mind - my outlook could be; I do not have much to offer. But, it's a lie trying to stop a massive force (WHEN WE JOIN HAND IN HAND) to defeat injustice, depression, poverty, frustration and well you got the idea. If we all come together; and tell everyone we meet about LYME AWARENESS, warning people of the dangers; a major dent  will be created.

Putting up LIME color posters, decorate your social media with LIME COLORS and Lyme graphic art. Buy a t-shirt from different companies that sell them, as well as bracelets and pendants. The average Chronic Lyme patient is one who suffers with his body feeling like one who has congestive heart, rheumatoid arthritis, and pain as one who just had surgery. The pain is real, my husband has this plus the migraines, numbness in his arms and hands, and electrical shocking pain (constantly) in his legs. He, along with fellow Lyme patients need encouragement. Telling them they need to take this supplement or go here or there, is appreciated; but be careful this tends to be the extent of 'help'. We personally covet prayers; the best and most powerful gesture to be done. After that help, help Lyme patients with chores they can't do. Such as; a yard needing mowed, car fixed and so on. Purchasing  gift certificates to places, helping defer the high expenses in health care. Vitacost is a great company that offers wonderful coupons; my husband uses them for special high quality vitamins. If there is a lady, send her some pretty's, or a way to get her hair done, and or a new outfit. We woman like those things. One day we would love to attend a Lyme Conference and maybe be a greater voice for LYME AWARENESS. If you are gifted helping with something like that, this would be appreciated for Lyme patients. Last year we got a miracle and God supplied for us to go on a nice vacation as a family. Being able to 'get-a-way' for a break from the madness of this not-so-fun circus, is a must! Or- how about a hug, card, in addition, a text just saying we care and are spreading the word is enough and a huge blessings.

So, let's go GREEN for Lyme's Awareness and pray for a breakthrough of healing's, legislation's, medical treatments and finances.

MAY IS LYME DISEASE AWARENESS MONTH

MAY IS LYME DISEASE AWARENESS MONTH

Lyme patients will get a chance to be heard this month as Lyme Educators will be speaking to politicians, medical professionals, and the public through out the month of May.

ILADS (International Lyme And Associated Disease Society) will be speaking at a big Lyme Awareness Rally in New York City on May 10, 2013. What is awesome is that more than 20 countries are expected in attendance. [Would love for our family to be a part of this one!]

For more information regarding the rally, Lyme Disease Awareness Month and Lyme's go to:  www.ilads.org

Up-Date On Brad:
Not a whole lot has changed for Brad. He is about the same since our last post. Though the breath hunger is not constant. But, still has hung on. The monthly migraines are the big 'kicker'! Every week always brings the faithful herx to Brad's body. He is still in a wheel chair when we are in places that require walking more than 100 feet.
He has been denied disability now definitely 4 times. Three lawyers have helped but with no avail. We have not had any income since this ordeal began. Our church is unable to pay us as at all. Though, the provision of a parsonage is a great blessing of which we are grateful for.
This sounds so depressing and scary  Frankly, if we allow ourselves to dwell on this storm...I believe we would sink. But, our hands are being held tightly by our daddy, our God! His Strength has been amazing through all of this. Admittedly we are very tired, needing a break. God knows. But, that doesn't mean we stop; we keep going forward-loving & serving others as we serve Him.
Your prayers are coveted and if you are suffering as well---hang in there. Just take one day at a time. Laugh, reach out to others daily and love on Jesus! We are all in this together; we will make it!
